Faces Of Wine III x Aires De Arriba

A winery that exceeded all expectations
Each bottle tells a story, and in this new edition of the Faces of Wine, we met the Ángela Castaño, mother of the winemaking project Aires de Arriba. His winery rescues old vineyards from the Murcian plateau to transform them into wines full of identity.
In this unique evening, his creations met with the rebellious and unruly cuisine of Arallo Taberna, in a pairing that defies the established.
Angela pulled out all her arsenal and demonstrated why the Region of Murcia has more and more to say in the Spanish wine scene. We tasted practically every one of her wines: imposing but sharp Monastrell, classy Petit Verdot with a bitter finish that surprised us all, age-worthy Tintorera and what’s left, always elegant and fruity Syrah, and fresh and pleasant Suavignon Blanc.
We were fortunate to have María José Huertas (Best Sommelier Spain 2024) with us as master of ceremonies, raising the level of the evening and generating a winegrower vs. sommelier discussion that set the tone.
In short, this Rostros Del Vino III, had everything you could ask for: wines that left no one indifferent, a top winemaker with her own project, a masterclass by the best sommelier in Spain, a gastronomy that delighted the members of the club and an unbeatable company.
