Maridarte II: tailor-made food and wine pairing

Have you ever paired a wine with a tailor-made suit?

I’ve decided to take wine experiences to the next level, and I’m going to show you.

Exclusive Event for Members

When I worked in London, my office was near the mythical Savile Row, Mayfair. From time to time I would pass by there and stop to admire the shop windows of the most traditional tailors of the old continent: Huntsman & Sons, Gieves & Hawkes, Henry Poole & Co, etc. Someday, I thought, I would have a suit made in one of them.

I have always appreciated good clothes, and I confess that in my closet there are several tailor-made garments. I don’t know if this is an analogy to the taste for wine, because something similar happens in my cellar. I keep large bottles for every moment, imperturbable to the passage of time in a dark and sheltered area, as if it were a closet full of clothes.

Perhaps you had never thought about it, but making a wine and a suit have a lot in common, pure custom craftsmanship that produces unrepeatable and unique pieces.

So I organized a meeting among friends, where Joaquín opened Sastrería Prats and showed us the secrets whispered by his scissors, José discovered Remírez de Ganuza and we all toasted together with my friends with our Riedel glasses, of course.
