Wine and art have something in common: both awaken emotions, tell stories and transport us to a unique sensory universe. This is what we experienced at The Howell Co. event, in collaboration with the prestigious Abadía Retuerta winery and the Covatrece art club, where the fusion between art and wine offered an unforgettable experience.

A stage to match: The Craft

The event took place at The Craft, Abadía Retuerta’s most innovative space in Madrid. Halfway between a contemporary art gallery and a design studio, this enclave became the epicenter of an evening in which art, wine and creativity met in perfect harmony.

Cultural pairing: when art is reflected in wine

During the evening, attendees explored the relationship between Abadía Retuerta ‘s most emblematic wines and the work of two emerging artists, whose works resonated with the essence and character of each label.

Le Domaine & Pepe Tristán

The first wine to be presented was the Blanco de Guarda LeDomaine DOP, a masterpiece of precision and delicacy that has been the result of 20 years of research. Its artistic pairing came from Pepe Tristán, an artist who works with graphite and ink on paper. The meticulousness and ability to capture the passage of time were intertwined with the complexity of the wine, generating a unique dialogue between both expressions.

Special Selection & Blanca Valls

The second proposal was Selección Especial 2020, a wine that stood out for its intensity, balance and evolution in the glass. Its equivalent in the art world is found in the work of Blanca Valls, whose masterful use of deep red evoked the liveliness and richness of this vintage. The fusion between her work and the wine transported the attendees on a sensory journey full of nuances and emotions.
