Crafting Timeless Elegance from Ribera del Duero

The Land

Cillar de Silos is in the enchanting Ribera del Duero, where the unique terroir flourishes. This area boasts an altitude that, combined with poor soils, produces wines of remarkable elegance.

The winery's vineyards, ranging from 15 to over 100 years old, are located in a privileged enclave between Quintana del Pidio, Gumiel de Mercado, and La Aguilera.

Here, the Tinto Fino and Albillo Mayor grapes thrive, capturing the essence of the land and contributing to the winery's distinct character.

The Winery

Cillar de Silos embodies a harmonious blend of history and modernity. Established in the 1970s, it is steeped in a rich legacy, having once supplied wines to the Monastery of Silos in the 16th century.

The winery features traditional underground cellars, ideal for aging wines in French and American oak barrels, ensuring that each bottle reflects the region's heritage.

With a commitment to sustainability, the winery is dedicated to working the land with respect and care, celebrating the craft of winemaking while honouring the past.

The Winemaker

At Cillar de Silos, the Aragón family carries on generations of winemaking tradition, infusing their wines with a profound sense of identity.

The winemaker's philosophy centres around a deep respect for the land and its heritage, ensuring that each vintage captures the unique characteristics of the terroir.

With a focus on the native varieties of Tinto Fino and Albillo Mayor, the winemaker meticulously oversees every aspect of production, crafting wines that not only express the soul of Ribera del Duero but also resonate with wine lovers around the world.

By Mª José Huertas

This wine has an attractive, intense garnet colour. It is aged in wood, but what stands out on the nose is the ripe red fruit, like strawberries and raspberries. There are also hints of black fruit such as blackberry, blueberry, and some plum. Additionally, it has a floral note and a touch of sweet spice. On the palate, it reflects the aromas, being quite fruity and juicy with good acidity. The tannins are present but very soft, leading to a long, aromatic, and pleasant finish. This wine is perfect for enjoying a glass on its own or pairing with hearty dishes.
