Wine to enjoy the summer

The Land

Alpilles, located north of Marseille, is one of the youngest French appellations. It stands out for being a wine-growing area of fertile soils, with optimal sunshine and Mediterranean breeze, factors that have led the Gallego family to recover the family estate Domaine Le Grand Castelet.

The Winery

Always in constant search for authenticity. The origins of the estate date back to the 18th century, when the construction of the Provençal style buildings began, to which a manor house, in the chateau style, was added.

The imposing Domaine Le Grand Castelet , stretches along the banks of the Rhone River, with its 150 ha. of alternating vineyards, crops and forests.

The Winemaker

Nicolás Gallego started this new family project in 2011, restructuring the vineyard, modernizing processes and applying his passionate methodology of respect for the vineyard, the grapes and the environment.

Today, after several years of research and trials, he produces a range of wines that reflect the full potential of the Domaine.

By Mª José Huertas

A wine full of nuances with fresh red fruit, hints of licorice, flowers and herbal touches. In the mouth the fruit dominates, it is balanced with a spicy finish. In short, a fun wine, absolutely enjoyable and light, recommended to be consumed a bit cooler.
